Accuracy policy

Corrections and uncertainty

The research is intended to be auditable. Corrections should change the structured source record, not merely the wording on a webpage.

How a correction should be handled

  1. Identify the case number or research record affected.
  2. Compare the disputed field with the strongest available source, preferably the court record or order.
  3. Update the master research record and its source URL.
  4. Preserve uncertainty where the source does not resolve the issue.
  5. Regenerate the website so case pages, summaries and counts remain consistent.

Examples of fields that remain qualified

Where a filing date conflicts between sources, a final disposition has not been independently verified, or a state complaint cannot be retrieved, the site records that limitation rather than choosing the more convenient interpretation.

If you are publishing this site publicly, add a visible maintainer contact method here so readers can submit a case number, disputed field and supporting source.
